    Freshwater strainer necessity, installation

My 22ve does not have a strainer on it but we have moved to an area where there is more debris in the water. Nothing like mats of weeds, but there is some floating vegetation at times and some runoff debris from time to time. Some wakeboat owners here say to get one but there are no other Tige owners I have seen to talk to this about. Is it really necessary and does anyone know if it can be installed by the owner? Thanks.

They are a great piece of insurance that will help guard against a trashed impeller. They are fairly universal and can be installed by anyone that is handy with basic tools.

Dom Fort or KKO could probably make a good recommendation as they install a lot of them at Forts Inboard Connection in FL

I put one of these on my Moomba by myself. It's not difficult. I will probably put one on my 2100V soon. I purchased mine at skidim.com
They have been great to work with in the past.

Some great information. Thanks. Anyone know what size you want, e.g. 1", 1.25", etc.?

We add a hatch like Tige 2010 under the rear seat, and install either groco or sherwood, with 1.25 hose and (2) 90 degree fittings.
Install just behind trans, easy to service and definitly worth the price.

Dom: Do you have any pictures of how you do this? I have a hatch below the rear seat but am trying to figure out where to mount the bracket ; need to see it in place or something to mentally picture it. Thanks!

Here's a picture of Dom's handy work on our RZ4.
                Larger hatch plus water filter.
