    Best Head Unit...Opinions Needed

I am wanting to know what is the best all round head unit for boats out there. I would love to get a head unit that I can plug the Ipete (my Ipod's nickname) into close the console and be able to change songs, volume, etc with out having to open up the console. Also I would like to be able to see the screen in the sun if I had to. Just wondering what everyone out there is using. If its thru a wired remote thats cool or if its wireless thats cool too but I am on somewhat of a budget so about 300 is my max.

I have a Kenwood HU that works great. You can just plug your iPod into the USB adapter and you have the full navigation of the iPod on the HU...

Then you can add up to 7 remotes to it also.

The New Sony RM-X60M wired remote will give you the Ipod/MP3 control. Of the 3 upper-end Sony marine head units, I like the CDX-M60UI and the CDX-H910UI. The Sonys have both USB and the 3.5MM AUX jack for MP3.

The Alpines also have great Ipod control through their remotes.

For those with Clarion HU you can get a CNET buss adapter and have control of iPod functions at H/U and basic track up/down functions on the drivers and rear remotes.

If you have Gen 4 iPod you need to add a converter to get power to the new ipods.

Crutchfield can hook you up with what you need.
