It's been my understanding, from the higher-ups @ Tige, that the RZ and Ve hulls are the same below the water line. This hull design was introduced on the 06 model year. Although it is different then the previous "V" series boats, it was not a drastic change, most of the change was to the deck and interior with the introduction of the walk-thru transom and activity center.
Before the current Ve/RZ hull, I think the older V was last redesigned about 02 or 03. This is for the 22/24 V-drives. the smaller V-drives and DD's are another story.

I don't think Tige has every really said that they are the same or different. I have heard that one has more of a rocker to the hull than the other. However, it would be nice for Tige to tell us the difference in the hull.
I was told the same thing as chp. From my understanding, the running survace on the two are the same. Obviously there are some differences, though. Unless I'm mistaken, the Ve doesn't have the cutouts on the side that the RZ does. I also have to wonder if this claim of the running surfaces being the same becomes more and more inaccurate as more ballast is added. After all, the hull toward the bow has to blossom out at some point on the RZ to meet that wide deck. I'm no engineer, but it would seem logical to me for R&D purposes to make the running surfaces identical for the sake of efficiency, especially if Tige thinks they have a reall good thing giong with that particular hull.
