universal trim tabs on 93 slm 2000

From what I understand, Bennett built Tige's TAPS system. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong.

I wouldn't try mounting two seperate tabs like on a larger I/O boat. The trim tabs on an I/O are to help with the nose rise "problem" when accelerating. Inboard boats do not have the same problem, they just lift up out of the water.

I too have looked into retrofitting a single center-mounted trim tab where the wakeplate sits. The TAPS plate was not an option when our 2000SLM's were built, but were available on the PRE 2000's a couple years later.

If I persue this any further, I'll be sure to post my finds here.
The luck is gone, the brain is shot, but the liquor we still got.

One thing to consider - Tige boats of your vintage were not designed with the convex hull shape, so the effect of the trim tab would not be quite the same as the current TAPS. I'm not sure how much of a benefit it would have. Maybe someone has retrofitted similarly and could chime in about the effect.

It would probably allow you to fine tune and clean up the wake some. Just not sure how much.

Not really. I'm pretty sure that hull has a hook in it (old Fineline mold). This acts as a static trim tab to keep the nose down. Spend your money on ballast or a prop or a subwoofer or a tower or something you'll actually benefit from.
You'll get your chance, smart guy.

dont do tabs on that boat. your wake gain would be in ballast.
the taps tab is really to fine tune the wake it does change size some, but your best bang for buck would be ballast imo
