Glad to see that there is already some interest in hooking up at Norris. I'll make sure all of our customers know about the event. Last year was fun and hopefully we are building something that will be the highlight of the summer for years to come.

Seriously, if you want to come down without towing, I'm sure we could find room for you on a boat.

I'm pumped about meeting you guys in person at the weekend. What I don't know is what goes on at these types of things. Do people meet up then go out on the boats and have fun? Is is a big party? Is it a lot of meeting people? I have no clue. What would be on the agenda for a weekend like this??? Please excuse the ignorance.

Well, there is, of course, the hazing of the rookie reunion attendee...

Reveille is at 5:00 a.m. All owners must line up their boats, single file, prepared for inspection. If a boat fails inspection, the owner must detail all other boats to their owner's satisfaction. Note: there will be no swabbing of the poop deck. All fun will be strictly forbidden.

For entertainment purposes, you can watch my feeble attempts to wakeboard and wakesurf! (Picture a 45-yr-old with an offensive lineman build trying to do sports that are better executed by a 20-yr-old with gymnastic skills.)

Seriously, it really depends on the crowd and when people can meet up.

Last year, we had a small crowd and we kept it very informal. The only scheduled event that we really had was for dinner on Saturday. Besides that, we all just met up on the water and threw out a hook in a cove. From there, we had different boats set up and taking different runs (boarding, surfing, kids tubing, etc.). While some would go out for runs, others socialized in the cove. So, people could as active as they liked. Mr. & Mrs. ChpThril became the defacto surfing instructors!

This year, I believe that we will have more people & boats. So, we will try to put together a bit more structured agenda as we get closer to the date and have a better feel for who will be there and when. The goal will be to accommodate as many as possible.

We are excited to see this beginning to grow and would welcome any ideas/input.

Dingle, If I remember what your boat looks like correctly, you should loose the graphics and put some Bengal stipes on that thing! It is orange, isn't it?

                  Tim,

That sounds great to me! There is actually a good chance we will be at Shanghai that weekend, so we'll be pretty close. I also just talked to my pops about the weekend and it is looking worse for our big family to go down. This is actually a positive for reunion prospects. No stepsisters to keep track of.

Just checked my schedule. I gotta work. I used most of my Vacation for the baby. Maybe next year. I do expect lots of pictures to be posted.

The area around Shanghai will be a zoo that weekend since No Wake Marine is having their annual Malibu reunion. They have a houseboat moored at Shanghai called "Dealer Ship." We refer to the the area from Shanghai to Deerfield as "the ocean" because the water is usually about as calm.

Well, the gray probably doesn't lend itself toward a Bengels scheme too well. And the fact that I wouldn't want to embarrass my boat by associating it with that team...

I can't blame you for not wanting to be associated with the Bungals.

                            BTW - Nice RZ4$ - a.k.a. "Tigésauras"

Just where I'm staying, not boating. I'll be up there with you homies. I like the part of the lake past Union County dock, as long as you can navigate through the haloof garbage around it. Guapo and I will be running the gauntlet by Shanghai on the way there. IMO, that is always the worst water on the lake.

Sounds like a great plan. Our 3 family vacation (17 of us) are booked for 17-24 Jul. Maybe I can see a few of you that Thurs or Friday if possible. We have been visiting Norris for the past 5 years and only gets better! We will be staying at Flat Hallow (rental of "Norris Lake Properties").
