    Reunion @ Norris Lake, TN – July 23-25, 2010

    .
    For those in the region, please save the date and make your plans for the 2nd annual Tigé Reunion at Norris Lake, TN on the weekend of July 23-25, 2010. Last year we had a small, but very fun crowd and a good time was had by all. We hope to grow the participation this year. We will determine specific events and plans when we get a little closer to the date and can determine the number of boats and people attending.

    Western Ohio Watersports will be there with a boat or two. We encourage other Tigé dealers in the region to participate also. Come on out to help celebrate and spread the awareness of Tigé boats!

    For those who are currently without a boat or do not want to tow their boat but would still like to attend, please let us know and we will help coordinate space on another boat. We should have plenty of room.

    We will be hosting/operating in the area of Powell Valley Resort or Flat Hollow Marina. Norris Lake is a fairly large lake. If you are unfamiliar with it, please review the Norris Lake map and make sure that if you are reserving lodging, you are on the North side of the lake on the Powell River (above Day Marker 9).

    Lodging info:
    ==========
    Flat Hollow Marina - large quantity & variety of rental options (homes, floating houses, etc.)
    Powell Valley Resort – campground & hotel
    Springs Dock - cottages, condos rentals, home rentals, cabins & motel
    Deerfield Resort - condo & home rentals

    Other resources:
    ============
    Norris Lake Marina Association
    Norris Lake Info
    Norris Lake Water Level (no problem here!)

    If you have any questions, please post them on this thread or send me a PM. See you at the lake!

      I put it on the calendar. I'd love to make it over. Looking at the map of the lake, it might be quicker/easier for me to trailer the boat from Twin Cove than run the lake. The furthest I've been is Sequoyah Marina. Should be a good time.

        Not too bad...35 miles or so by water (according to Google Earth). Hope the timing works out

          It's not that bad. I'm thinking 1/2 an hour boat ride at the most. I'd be coming from all the way up the Clinch river.

            We were planning of taking my dad and his family down that weekend, so we will probably be there with a full boat at least part of a day. If they don't end up coming, we will be there for a more substantial part of the weekend and will have some space.

            Are there going to be any pros or really good riders there? I wonder if the guys at G-rides would want to participate. I talked to their instructor at one of the marinas on the lake and he sold me my wakeboard and bindings at the Cincy Boat Show. He was the nicest guy and totally hooked me up. Just a thought... I was thinking that I would really like to tow someone doing some crazy stuff behind my boat.

              Tim,

              Thanks for your work in getting this together. It should be great. There needs to be a ton more Tiges on that lake, especially for the number of high end tow boats that you see there.

                Where is G-Rides? I saw a board shop at Sequoyah Marina last year but didn't pay attention to the name.

                I wonder if your Tige dealer might want to be part of it in some way?

                  He is. Andy Nesbit is the owner of the above mentioned Western Ohio Watersports. G-Rides is a sweet pro shop for watersports in West Chester (just north of Cincinnati) but they have two little shops at Norris. I think the one that my guy from the boat show does lessons out of is at Springs Dock; I could be wrong. They have a pretty nice website. I found it after the show just by googling it. Great folks. I learned more about wakeboarding in fifteen minutes from talking to the guy than all other times put together. And, he didn't make me fell like he was wasting his time with an overweight novice like me.

                  Back on topic. I've been thinking about this reunion all day and can't wait.

                      I looked and you are still 5 hrs from me. I thought Norris Lake might have gotten closer since last year.

                          Guapo is definitely more than 1/2 hour boat ride away (but about 19 miles by road). We made the run from Flat Hollow Marina to Twin Cove Marina and back one weekday a few summers ago. It was an all day event but we were doing skiing/boarding/tubing runs, stops to swim, eat lunch, etc. along the way. Guapo - we can figure out logistics for you guys as time gets a little closer. I've got a couple ideas that may make life easier for you. We hope that you can make it!

                          Matt & Nik are the brothers that own G*Rides and they are great guys. I haven't talked about this to them yet. I think if we can get enough participation, we may be able to encourage them to get involved. The same goes for other dealers. Last year, Billy from TN Tige offered up to bring a boat that the members of T.O. could choose.

                          I am also hoping that we can get some support from Tigé to be able to schedule a rider. This particular weekend is also when a local Cincy Malibu dealer hosts a big event at Norris. It would be awesome to tow one of the Tigé team riders past their houseboat!

                            Actually, the maps have not been updated since Guapo dropped his boat in the lake and filled up his ballast. I think it is a bit closer to you this year. So, leave your Hot Pockets and newborn at home and you can catch a ride down with with one of us.

                            Seriously, if you want to come down without towing, I'm sure we could find room for you on a boat.

                              We are supposed to be down there the whole week before on a houseboat trip. Looks like we will probably go ahead and stay for the reunion as well. On top of that my sister and brother in law will be there for the previously mentioned Malibu event, so it would be nice to have a good showing for the Tige event.
