Advice/Recommendations for powering Wet Sounds systems.

Still sorta new to the site, but have received some great advice and tips so far from members here. I'm a new boat owner (June '09, '07 Tige 24Ve) and am still trying to figure things out as I go.

I'm currently trying to complete my boat stereo system, and need some advice/recommendations. So far I have 4-Wet Sounds XS-650's powered by Alpine PDX amps, and 2-10" subs, all controlled by the Wet Sounds 420 EQ. I'm focusing on the tower now, and plan on adding 4 of the Wet Sounds Pro 80's. I'm wondering if anyone else has these speakers (or something similar), and what kind of power you're using to push these (Brand/Model/Power/etc.).

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again.

I have 4 pro 80's powered by the wetsounds syn2 and it is plenty of power. If you really want to get crazy you can have a syn2 for each set of pro80's.

Cool, thanks. Was looking at the Wet Sounds amps, but wanted to explore other options as well. Is anyone using any other brand of amps to run their Wet Sounds?

well I didn't have Wet sounds when I had my boat, but I had their biggest competitor, NVS, and I used zapco amps. very nice amps IMO.

You could also go with an Alpine PDX 4.150 if you wanted to stack another Alpine in there, but that's only 150 watts rms and the Pro 80's can run 200. The Syn 2 looks like it would be a better way to go though as you would get 175 to each one and it's cheaper.

I have 4 Bulllet Hollowpoint 770's powered by 2 Alpine PDX 4.100's giving 200 watts to each.

4 Pro 80's on a Syn2 would be 175 watts rms each and is plenty of power and crystal clear and loud. Not to mention efficient with the Class H/G technology power supply of the Syn series amps. If you really want to push them, go with a Syn Mycros for each Pro80 = 250 watts rms each, or for even more, then 2 Syn4 amps which would be 400 watts each, but tuning is critical.

Thanks for the recommendations, think I'm gonna go with the Syn-2. My installer was trying to steer me toward the PDX-150.4, but I'll take the extra power of the Wet Sounds amp. I'll post pics when I'm done, should turn out nice.

You can also use the ARC audio as a second to the wetsounds amp. I am running the ARC since wetsounds did not have there amp line when I built my system and it is very clean and clear.
