    1993

    Hi all,
New here and thinking of getting a 93...any insight on these boats would be great! Good, bad, anything that you have experienced with the classics.

Can anyone tell me how the wakeboarding would be behind it? I have read all the posts about some who like it, some who don't and everything in between, but for those who have actually boarded behind one, what do you think...I would consider myself a beginner boarder, but have lots of experience on a slalom. Would rather not add a tower, maybe a pylon???

    Any thoughts?
    Thanks

I've had a '94 since last April. The wakes are not huge, but for a beginner like me they were pretty good. I've heard with a bit of weight and a speed between 19-22 the wakes are decent. Once you get above 23 MPH the wakes flatten out like a slalom boat should.

I have only used it to wakeboard behind a couple times. I mainly have it setup for surfing. I stack two 400# sacs in the back corner and go surfing. The wake has a pretty short pocket with this setup. I could probably stretch it out with more weight forward.

These boats do have a rather low freeboard, so when adding alot of weight you need to use caution. They are also easy to bury the bow if you're not watching where you drive. I've only done this once. Just throttle up and get the nose up a bit, and your in the clear. The boat is solid, and handles waves as good as, if not better, than our '96 18' Lund Tyee. Although the Tyee get's up and skips over the waves, and the Tige' cuts through them.

      Sent you a PM...

I don't like the looks of a tower on the older ski boats...I have a Pylon and it works fine. I love the days when we have all skiers aboard...no boards, no tower, no Pole, but thats just my own taste.

          Thanks guys,
Appreciate the input...I have never surfed before, but would love to get into it, so that is something to think about also.

I like the looks of it without a tower, and probably would NEVER put one on a slalom boat, but will prob look into the pylon more when I get the boat.

AdaminMN-do you have any pics of your boat and/or wake with the sacs in?

Any other thoughts on the 1993's? Doesn't have to do with boarding, but anything you guys have experienced to look out for on these boats?
          Thanks

I'll have to look. My wife is usually driving, and the kids (7&8) have the camera. Pictures taken are quantity, not quality.

I've got no good wake shots at all.

Just so you know, I just had to look at 600+ pictures of sunshine, water, and my Tige'. Pure torture when is 12 degrees outside.

Once you surf....you never go back!....Well maybe that's not true, but we went from a tubing/wakeboarding family to a full time Surfing Crew after our latest boat. I didn't think I would like surfing until I tried it....now it's pretty much all I do.

                    93 tige

sorry didnt see your post. admin mn right not a great wake board boat and you do have to watch the bow, you can put a lot of water over the windshield real quick!!!! the only other thing is it rides a little harsh in ruff water.the closed bow we call the basement.because when you put things in there you wont find them for a year....i bought my 92 new and its a great boat with no problems. i put a full marine MSD ignition system in,along with a perfect pass, cold air intake and a acme 4 blade prop.17 years later and i still love the boat.i would like a new RZ2 maybe next year mr.pigon..

How did you rig up a cold air?

                        93 tige cold air intake

the original tige had 2 air intakes in the bow.i cut 2 more holes in the same intake for a total of 4. the bilge has 2 blowers for exhaust.and 1 blower reversed for intake for the air filter. the intake came from a 1999 dodge dokota with a spectre cone air filter.the intake fits perfect on the weber 650 carb. this is NOT COAST GUARD APPROVED spark arrester. but so far no problems.
