Lake Powell House Boat companies - any to avoid?

A group of 12 of us are getting ready to book a houseboat for Lake Powell and I just wanted to see if anyone had recommendations for which companies to use or which ones to avoid. $4k is a lot of money to potentially get taken out of so I thought I would hit up my fellow Tige Owners who frequent Powell on a regular basis.

We have used Forever Resorts on Lake Mojave Cottonwood Cove and have never had a problem..........Everything was as stated or better! Just my Good luck and have fun

If you are renting a HB on Powell you will only have two choices- Aramark is the only company at Wahweap and marinas up river and Antelope Point has their own company. If anyone else says they will rent you a HB they are liars or operating illegally.

All commercial operations on or around the lake are controlled by the National Park Service.

The one we were looking at was ran by Aramark, not sure who this other company is run by. We are looking at Bullfrog mainly since we are coming from Denver. Thanks for the tip Paublo!

Aramark is your only choice then. Antalope is the nicest marina by far, but it's a 12 hour drive from Denver rather than the 7 to bullfrog. We keep our house boat in Wahweap, that end has huge bays and more beachs. I think it's worth the extra drive.

We were planning June 6th because there was a 50% off deal from Aramark if you paid in full up front but not everyone was able to go that week so we are planning for later on in the summer.

When is later on in the summer? If second week in September, I have a houseboat that sleeps 21.

Possibly the beginning of August. My wife is a school teacher so we can't go during the best time of the year (September)

If you decide to go with Forever Resorts Houseboats out of Antelope Point Marina, let me know. We have a 25+ year relationship with the manager there and might be able to put in a word for you.


All of this talk about Lake Powell is getting me homesick for the Lake.
