i have a 1997 tige pre2150wt and i just ordered a m1 monster tower. i was calling around and asking how much to install and one dealer asked me if it is "reinforced". None of the other dealers asked me that and i have no idea. they said a boat that old is probably not reinforced and because of that the install would cost more. can anybody shed some light on this?

He may have been referring to the backing plates. Re enforced backing plates will help keep the bolts tight and could also prevent gel coat spider webbing at the mounting points.
Going rate here in Mid Tn for that install is $400.00-$500.00Tennessee Tigé Boat Sales and Service

Its not that hard to do yourself, with basic hand tools and some degree of craftmanship its @ a 3 hour job.
The newer Tiges come with aluminium plates that are fiber glassed in so you can drill and tap for the rear legs and the front legs are bolted through. Monster Tower has excellent directions and very easy to follow. Wait until you get the directions before you commit to paying for the install, you might be surprised, its easier than you think.
