Glad you got the tower worked out.

Clarion uses a proprietary connector and data line for their remotes, so only a Clarion head unit will work. The above units are the Clarions that will interface with that head unit. The only on that is a current model is the CMD5, but all the others can be found on the internet fairly easily.

the cmd4 whats different than a cmd4a,also what is needed for and ipod to plug in ? what is the adapter is it just a wire ? i like the bigger radio which do you prefer?

The diff between the CMD4 and CMD4A if I remember right, had to do with the older Ipod interface that was released at the time. Dont think it's even in production any more.

There are some functional differences between the CMD4 and CMD5, but I believe the biggest was Blue Tooth for the 5.

You can use a simple cable with a pair of RCA's on one end and a 3.5MM headphone jack on the other or get the Clarion CCA-Ipod interface. It will give you full control of the Ipod through the head unit (on the 5, but not on the 4 if I remember) and will charge the Ipod *NOTE* The CCA_Ipod does not work with all Ipods. It will work with all the Clarions that have a CNet connection, but not all the head units allow for the same level of Ipod control.
