    Do I need a prop?

What can an aftermarket prop do? I am mainly into wakeboarding on my 2001 20i but we like to cruise, tube, and kneeboard...

Can an aftermarket prop give off a better cleaner wake?

Or I guess my main question is still what benefits does an aftermarket prop give you?

A different prop will have very little (if any) effect on the size/shape/cleanliness of your wake.

Primarily, prop changes are done to provide either (1.) more power (less slippage or cavitation) at the lower revs (basically, think of it like better accelleration of the boat), but your top speed will be slightly reduced, or (2.) higher top end speed, but the accelleration would suffer.

Most folks who change props on inboard boats do so because they heavily weight their boat with ballast for surfing or wakeboarding, and the boat can become less responsive and begin to have a sluggish holeshot (or initial accelleration from a stop until getting up on plane). For the people who weight their boat that heavily, they usually are not concerned with losing just a few mph off the top end, and they want the better holeshot.

I believe you had a Michigan prop on that boat stock. IF you change over to an ACME you will see better hole shot and possibly a better wake. I have sent you a PM to discuss this further with you. Their is a lot to consider when changing the prop to get the best prop.
