Fayetteville is about 25-30 miles NE of there. Schulenberg is on I-10. Fayetteville is off 71 like going towards Austin just past Ellinger. It's not a big lake by any means and yes it's heated. Great in the spring and fall, not so great in the middle of the summer, but when your hitting the water at crack of dawn and in the evening it's nice. You can ski all over now, when I grew up it had a ski area. It's fairly stump free but the ramp can generate algae. They have really nice cabins but they book fast. Probably hit that lake before anywhere else since it is heated, Come March on a nice warm day it will be fun while everyone else is still cold. We could hook up.

Check out Heart of Texas in on lake LBJ. It is pretty nice, they have docks and a plenty of room. Also every year the family and I rent a house on Lake Placid which is a private lake near Segin, TX. Give me a call if you need additional help. Tony@Tige 325-829-8676

LBJ per previous posts is empty during the week. It was busy on weekends last year due to Lake Travis being low. Several options for rentals at all price ranges.
