Which drive ratio?

Ok I have a 2001 21v with the velvet drive transmission and a blue v drive does this mean I am 1:1 or is there a reduction in the v-drive to 1.5:1? I need to know so I can order a new prop. Acme recomended the 4 blade 1235 (14.5x14.25)for the reduced drive. and the 911 (13x10.5) for the 1:1. Which prop do I need?

he also said that "Tige didnt start puting reduced drives in until around 2003, but this doesnt mean that its not a reduced drive." the prop that is on it now is OJ(13.5x17.5) shes kind of a pig down low and tops out around 35. Dont really care what the top speed is so much but with a higher top speed means lower RPM at wakeboard speeds.

If your boat was newer then a 2001, i'd say 100% it's a 1.5:1, but like ACME said, 2003 sounds about the time Tige started to use the gear reduction, and used both up to 05 or 06 before dropping the 1:1

If i remember right, the ratio was printed/stamped on one of the stickers/tags on there.

*EDIT* Its a 1:1, I see it on the tag in the 2nd pic. Your ACME prop will be the 911.

yep, I was editing my post when you posted your previous post. The trans id a 1:1, so you will need the ACME 911. The v-drives are 1:1 and just change the direction of the prop shaft.

ok sweet thats what I thought but just wanted to make sure, thanks guys!! How much performance gains do you think I will see going from a 13.5"x17.5 4 blade to a acme 911 3 blade?

I'm pretty sure that the blue v-drives where gear reduced. My v-drive is black and it's 1:1. You might want to call Walter to confirm this. A 1:1 would never be able to pull a 13.5 x 17.5 at all, I tried.

damn its expensive though! But I guess it doesnt really matter. I am trading a truck rack for it. Can some one pm me what whole sale is on this prop is so I can know what to deal with him on it.
