    Advice on backrest cushion removal

Just wanted to say hi to everyone and I am a new tige owner. I just pick up a 2008 22ve the other day and I am wanting to run some wiring to the back of the boat. So my question is, can anyone give me some advice on how to remove the backrest cushion on the port bench seat in the main cabin of the boat. I thought I could pull out on the bottom of the cushion and then lift up on the cushion to get the backrest off from the fiberglass, but the cushion doesnt want to come off that way. I am afraid of breaking something if I pull to hard. I looked up from the bottom and saw some studs poking through the fiberglass, so I am not sure if I am suppose to remove the nuts on the studs to get the backrest off. Thanks

You do need to remove those nuts and washers! I hope you have long arms

It's not worth the time to pull the seat backs. Remove the main seat bottom to expose the under-seat storage, lay down in the storage and look up in the gunwale. You will see a couple of 2" PVC pipe sections for running wire etc through. These are reachable. The easiest way to get wire from the passenger storage to the under seat storage is with a electrical fish-tape or stretched out coat hanger. It sounds tough, but to reach up and unbolt the seat backs is the same thing.

Congrats and welcome to the site.

I second chpthril on this. I just ran wiring for my stereo system last week, and thought I needed to remove the seat back as well, but after laying on by back, was able to reach up and get the wire thru the PVC. Good luck.
