    Salt Water help

    I have had my 2008 VE since it was brand new. It has never seen the saltwater before. I am military and have recently been told that I am more than likely going to be stationed in Charleston, SC. This is great news for me because Charleston is home and that is where I want to go. However, I am very nervous about putting my boat in saltwater. I know some of you guys have experience with this. Any advice? Does anyone know how much it cost to have a saltwater flush kit on? Or salt water steering? Or do I even need it. Please ease my mind.

    Keep it clean is the most important thing. Salt water flush kits can not be more than a couple of hundred dollars if you put it on your self and the cable is a SSC154Xlength of cable needed. Teleflex has made changes to the SSC134 version of the cable and given it a new number SSC154. The cable ismore durable for those types of uses as well as other. If you are moving to that side of the country Mike CHPTHRILL is on that side and could help you out. He is pretty sharp on this boat stuff.       You need to add grounding cables on the steering to control electrolisis, also a raw water sea strainer, spray all engine hardware with 3m marine rust inhibitor, 70% of all the boats I sell are salt water used with no real problems.
      What kind of trailer do you have?

          Thanks for the help guys. I do need to get a new trailer because mine is just painted. I guess I will have to upgrade to galvanized.

            What color is your trailer? I know some some looking for a trailer for their 2006 22v in Columbia, sc.
