    Tige dropped Lyman

Insanity... he is one fo the true fans favorite riders. Amazing style, goes huge. And he just finished with a 98.5 in the first heat at the PWT. Some things I do not understand.

Ya that is kind of a bummer. I love Lymans unique riding style, no one else rides like him.

Good personality on top of that.

Yeah, that is too bad. I met him a while back and he was a nice guy and he is one of my favorite riders...

Maybe his rude comments he made in Wakeboarder Magazine had something to do with It...

        David,

        What comments did he make?

I can't quote him exactly, but it was something about saying there are too many "poser wakeboarders" now or something. I guess he doesn't want the sport to grow. Everyone starts somewhere...

Yeah, I don't think I'd sponser someone who was puting down the customers I was trying to sell my product to either.

This was Lyman's reply on wakeword.com to people talking about his comments.

This was a copy and paste from his post

hey guys this is Keith Lyman. i am very sorry that some of you have taken my quote the wrong way. if you read on the rest of the quote it says: "people want to be pro wakeboarders and say."what do i have to do to become one?" those people don't have style. and they do the same tricks as the pioneers. but if you look at ben greenwood. he does sick....everything. and then people try to copy that style and it doesn't look the same. they cant do it. cause its not him." now what i meant by this was that there has been some kids who have become pro and have been trying to steal peoples style. do stuff your own way and the way that it feels good to you. Im sure you all have seen happy gilmore the movie. remember when "shooter" is trying to swing like happy when no one is looking? thats what im talking about! do stuff your own way. once again i am very sorry that some of you have taken it that way, but looking back and placing myself in your shoes i can definitely see where you are coming from. if you have anymore questions please post them and i will try to get back to you as soon as i can. thanks to all of you people who have supported me. and i am very grateful for the entire wakeboard community i have a dream job! thanks, keith

I think they put too much into 'he doesn't place at events'... He is a big time rider, but definitely not a big time event rider. He has some moments, but all in all is not that great there. But, he is like Murray. They both go huge and have amazing, unique style.

Not sure if this is true but it's something I heard. Lyman sunk 2 boats. If it's true, could this have been the main reason why he got dropped?

                    That is true...

But, most of those guys have sunk multiple boats. It is crazy.

i can almost, ALMOST, understand how a veteran boater can sink aboat. but 2. if that is true, maybe someone needs a little schooling in boater safety

Can anyone explain to me how in the world do you sink a boat? much less a Tige'? or like M.D. says - 2 Tige's? Especially in a lake good enough to wakeboard?

                        I don't know that I could if I tried.

I heard he was weighting his boat down with over 4000 lbs.

                            4000 lbs? That's more than a 22v weighs!

How could you even drive a boat weighed like that? It's amazing he didn't fry a transmission first. - Oh wait - The transmission never got going because the boat was under before he could get it in gear!

It was not the weight. In the first boat the valve that opens and closes for ballast malfunctioned and it filled up with water while he was out of town. I assume the battery died so the bilge stopped.

On the second, he was out of Orlando, Hurricane came in, boat sank.
