    Bimini Extension

    Hey all,
I am looking at getting the Bimini Extension for my 08 Z1. I like the concept of the current setup, but it really doesn't provide enough coverage.

My buds over at Texas Tige let me know that there is an extension that I can buy which zips right up to the factory bimini (sunbrella).

Has anyone purchased this extension and if so... Pictures anyone???

    Thanks kvon

^^^^ The 08 would have either the current "E" or the discontinued "Z" tower. It's probably direct from the peeps that make the bimini for Tige V's going through Tige.

Thanks for the pic. It looks good! Do you think it was worth the coin??

yes, however it is different from the standard bimini. It kind of lips up in the front. I am not sure whether I like that part of it. You cannot adjust it to make the forward poles longer and bring it down. It does provide plenty of shade though, which is the purpose.

Kerlee, my 09 RZ2 has adjustable poles in the front that allow me to change the length. Mine doesn't lip up like that. I'll see if I can find a picture...not sure if I have one or not and the boat is in storage. You might check with your dealer on it though.

Thanks, your maybe different. Mid year 2009, Tige changed its supplier of Bimini tops. I had to wait for about 6 weeks to get the extended version. Just to clarify, there are 3 adjustments on my front poles like on the standard top, but they are there to make the bimini fit tight. I asked the dealer about it and they agreed that they thought the extension had a slight lip up when compared to the standard and they noticed that when they first saw the 2009's when they first came out in 2008. I got the top at the end of the season. I will have to wait until next season to see how much it bugs me. They actually had to make my extension top completely since it was a different supplier than my original top, even though it is a zip on, therefore I can always change back to the standard top next season as I have both still.

                bimini

Here are two pics from my 2007 20v with the factory 2008 bimini and extension. It was worth the coin for me. I used it a lot during the hottest temps of the summer. I would leave it off if it was going to be cooler and just run with the normal bimini. It is a very welcome addition to keep cool in august.

                  wannab0133,
did you install the bimini yourself or did you have your dealer do it??

I like the way that looks.
                  Thanks for the pics
