I'm looking at a 2005 22v with just under 90 hrs. on it. It is in good shape with no major gelcoat or interior damage. It has the basic stereo and no tower speakers. Also no speed control. NADA shows avg. retail in the 25k range. Is that a fair representation in today's economy? The seller is stuck on $28,500 and i'm just not sure if thats in line. What do you guys think would be a good price. Any opinions would be great.

$25K is where it hits me for a 5 year old boat with not too many options, and that includes trailer. And yes, ballast was an option. That boat probably sold for $45K new.

IMPO if the boat is mint than its worth that price. Now if it needs detailed and is showing wear and tear thats a diiferent story, Iknow its a used boat but @90 Hrs. it should be mint. It might be a tick high but if its really nice its a great boat at a good price. If it had PP i would say good price for sure.I assume it has a cover as well. Make sure the cover is in good shape. also for that price it should have a bimini and be in good condittion. These two things that are often overlooked IMPO. When I bought my boat I could see it had hardware for the bimini but I did not see the top in/on the boat. I asked about it.Guys says "yeah I have it,its in the garage we never used it much it comes with the boat". So I just took it as yes it has one and its on good shape he didnt use it much. Well we struck a deal over the phone a week later. The guy was nice and even delivered from Orlando to Tampa for me. When I got the bimini out and put it up to my dismay it had to tears in it were the tower speakers rub it. This boat was bought as a fixer upper (project still in progress)so I was not really all that pissed about it. But it did teach me a lesson. Ask about everything and never take anything for granted. Sorry I got off topic. But for that price that boat should have a nice cover and bimini IMPO.I dont really consider them "options" if you know what I mean.Last edited by kko; 11-15-2009, 01:16 PM.

I would agree more with chpthril's price range. The economy is terrible for the boating market. Especially in Northern California. Other parts of the country are better but definitely not higher than the middle NADA values. IMO, low NADA is a better deal and the $25k probably is a nice breaking point.

I am always looking on different sites and what I am seeing is at least a $5000+ difference between the West and East coast.
The West coast is definately the place to buy if you want an older new or used boat.
For instance look at Norcal Mastercraft and they have a brand new 08 X Star for $58,779. There are private used sales for the same boat on the East coast for $64,000 or more for the same boat, of course different colors but hey at that price who cares as long as it is new.
There has definately been one good thing come out of the West coast real estate fallout.
I am really trying hard not to pull the trigger on one of the new 08 Stars down at Norcal.Last edited by Carter13; 11-15-2009, 11:46 PM.Formertigeowners.com

It depends on condition and options
My 2002 21v had heat, shower, upgraded perfect pass, integrated ballast system, stereo with sub and tower speakers, PA, and I got $21000. I felt the buyer got a good deal, beacause all of those extras would cost $5000 to add + installation either money or the labor to do it. Look at my listing in boats for sale at the pics. Interior for me is the sticking point. Vinyl is expensive to redo and the condition of it is a direct correlation of how well cared for the rest of the boat is. Anybody who cares about their boar is going to have have well cared for old vinyl, or replaced vinyl that is nice. My 2cents of the day.
