Takes a little time, but centers the boat and decreases the chance for damage.
X2 on the loading procedure. Only takes about a minute extra.
Saves the carpet on the bunks also by not powering up.

Start shallow And nose the boat home which centers the boat on the trailer. Back the trailer under the boat while idling forward. Winch the last 12 or 6 inches. I had to add carpeted 3/4" marine plywood to my exiisting side bunks to keep the hull exactly on centerline. Otherwise the boat is rolled slightly to one side, raising the lowered tower and losing my 1" of garage door clearance.

        1) every ramp is a bit different, so watch where boat starts to float when launching
        2) when ramp is steep I fill back ballast to get boat angle same as trailer angle
        3) when wind kicks up I put trailer in less deep until boat sets then I back deeper and push the boat the rest of the way on

x3 on this procedure. There's too many things that can go wrong if you don't line your boat up exactly right. Take your time and you'll never have issues.

thanks for the help. i learned a couple things. i need to start shallow and then back the trailer in and ease it on. my guide post on my trailer would not float up because the wraps around the poles were caught on the bolt on the bottom of the post. actually i tried to keep them from floating because the ramp was so steep the pvc actually floated of the posts. thanks again. i've been around the lake a lot but this is my first boat of my own. i'm learning!
