What's the best way to get a good valuation of what a boat is worth in the current economy? I'm not selling, but need an accurate number for the lawyers, if you know what I mean.

When I was looking, NADA was no where near what the price of boats were selling for and not sure if some will go that low? I think the NADA has them undervalued, then again I think they are over priced. It's all back to what the market will bare and think those values came out when the economy was tanking. Hopefully the economy will come back by end of 2010!!!! If not, may have a boat for sale!!!

I don't know about that...I bought my boat for over 25% less (I did get a screaming deal and the guy needed the money badly) than the NADA Value. Just for kicks I priced some of my buddies boats and they seem fairly high as well on NADA. Used boats are selling pretty cheap...up here anyway. X2 on the economy picking up in 2010...we could all use that. Only good thing for me is the Canadian dollar being high so I can order stuff for my boat and not get hosed on the exchange!!

I was down this road.
Get a price quote from a dealer if you can. Get comp sales if you can - look on the internets and speak to dealers.
You will want to value in your area if it is below the national average or the national average if you are in a ritzy area. Make it work for you.
Keep your chin up and feet on the high road.
