Looking to upgrade the tow rig

Just turned 93000 miles on the 07 duramax (classic). this truck is awesome. Suggest you really consider looking at one

I have the 3/4 ton short bed. It tows fine. If you want to be able to turn sharper while towing your toy hauler you would have to either get a longer bed on the truck or have an adjustable 5th wheel. The longer the truck, the more stable you will be, especially towing in the wind. I think getting a 1 ton is overkill. They do have bigger breaks, stiffer suspension, and can tow a heavier load. But when not towing the ride is alot rougher. So for me, what I got is perfect. If it is windy, I just slow down to be safe.

With all the added emissions equipment on todays new diesels you wont be seeing 15 mpg when towing.
You may get 2 mpg better when towing and unloaded the mileage will be the same as your F150.

If your looking for that kind of mileage an older 7.3L may get you closer to that range. They are hard to come by. The folks who have them tend to hold onto them.

I have seen 2003 6.0s with over 200,000 miles that have been chipped to since the start and then have seen 2006s with 30000 that have had head gasket problems, i have owned two, both 2005s and like both, never had a problem besides a starter, one with 136000 and another with 25000 when i got rid of it, good trucks if you get a good one, but dont expect 15 mpgs pulling, you will be disapointed. If you want the best milage go with a dodge, it pained me to say that.

Well, I bought the truck yesterday. I hope it does not have the 6.0 curse. It had a clean carfax and Oasis report. I love it. The turbo sounds awesome. I don't think I will even know my 20V is back there.

Well I haves owned the truck for three days. On my way home from work this morning it just died. It is at the shop now waiting for a diagnosis. Bad part is I bought it as is. I am realy hoping the dealership steps up and makes it right. I have the best luck.

That really sucks sorry to hear that. They better make it right, if they dont I would make a major deal out of it. Tell them you will stand in front of the dealership and tell everyone about what happened. But the sh*tty part is you bought it "as is".

I am so mad about this. I realy loved the truck the first two days. I just have to wait and see what happens. If they don't make it right, I will definately make some noise.
