I wonder if there is a standard color for the gelcoat for all boats that have wraps? Ir do you pick a color scheme too so if you get sick of the wrap you can just take it off? I like wondering about stuff I cannot afford!
You pick whatever color you want for the gel coat like normal and wrap over it. Mine is black and red under the wrap. So it can be pulled off and factory decals put on etc..

You can see on the wakegraphics site some half wraps as well

This way if you want to ever go back to factory in a few years, you can.

He had one there and actually showed me some blems you could see through the white wrap. The blems on the hull was just cosmetic stuff....anyway a little too flashy for me...
I guarantee 100% you wont get that with Tige. One thing to know about MC (and CC and Bu) they cookie-cutter boats and then force dealers to buy x amount of inventory that's already built. Tige doesnt build about till it's ordered......by either a dealer for a customer.

I like some of them. I think they look better then the current decal options. Makes the boats stand out amongst the competitors. Tige's already stand out but this is going to make them pop even more.

Some of them aren't bad at all. It's not necessarily my style, but I do like where they're going. If they offer something in the half wrap that's more my style, I'll be all over it. I would love to change the factory decal on my boat.

If you farm out the whole job, expect to pay between $3000 to $4000 for a full boat wrap. Typically $3,500.00 for a 22 to 24 foot boat. For this price, you can buy a full custom binini that provides "real" shade. If you plan to replace the stock graphics only, the cost will be considerable less, and the simple low-risk do-it-yourself aspect comes into play.

If you hate skulls, or if you want to manage your own wrap job you'll need to start with a graphics design. Boats hulls are asymmetrical which makes the design complex, but not totally out of reach for the risk takers or computer savvy boat owners looking to cut cost in half or more. Mario Perex with WakeGraphics.com is a great source for design work. If his style isn't what you’re after and are thinking of something more conservative, a great source for template designs is www.auroragraphics.net.

Here you can play around with various graphic designs on a mock wakeboard boat (FUN). Go to Aurora Grahpics, create an account (may take a day or two for the account to activate as it did for me), then go to "search artwork" and pick out as many design templates that interest you. Save these to your favorites, "add to favorites". From there go to "design studio" (found on the search artwork page, 1/4 page down on right). Just below the E-Mail tab, you'll see a box listing various types of vehicles, scroll down to "boat" and click on it. The box to the right will say, "wake_board 0000-0000"....you now have a Calabria wake board boat to dress up any way you choose utilizing all your saved graphics in your favorites (except for font graphics, which will have to be done within Adobe PhotoShop CS2, CS3, or CS4) From there click on the "get favorites" button. Here you have all your favorites you've previously selected. Click on one of your favorites and select "add to vehicle". Your image will now be added to your mock boat. From there you can manipulate the image size and shape. You can apply up to 6 layers of images, it gets a little tricky but with patients and time you'll quickly be rewarded for your efforts. For questions, call Aurora Graphics and ask for Dave. You can buy your graphics individually then apply them to Adobe Photoshop. If you have a picture of your boat, or can get a picture of your boat with a white hull (no color and no graphics), Dave can put it on his site as a template.

If your new to Adobe Photoshop, buy Aurograhpics ProDesigner 1 or 2 training DVD, or just pass your design concept to Mario Perez and have him finish it up. Mario has all the Tige models preformatted.

Vinyl Pricing: High volume output farm houses typically charge as low as $4.00 per square foot, and up to $5.00 per square foot - includes 3M 180 (w/o comply) vinyl and laminate.http://multimedia.mmm.com/mws/mediaw...666XgWCOrrrrQ- If you don't laminate, gas will stain your vinyl. Get the laminate! Do not use Comply stock! Output houses are everywhere….search wide format graphic(s) printing on Google. I have used www.OIACORP.com (Outdoor America located in Tampa) in the past for various vinyl business banners.

Installation starts at $2.00 per square foot here in Florida. Boats are far less complicated than a PT Cruiser, so your install cost shouldn't be too much above the 2 buck range, especially if you remove all the hardware yourself. Removing the hardware gives your vinyl a much cleaner look. Not all hardware needs to be removed. If you go through a middle man, expect to pay MORE... a LOT more. (only use an independent, certified 3M or Avery professional installer). Don't contract a newbie or someone fresh out of wrap school, you'll be sorry. If you live in the central Florida region, drop me an email and I'll provide you a contact name and number.

It's best to have your boat on stands, indoors and at room temperature, but can be done on the trailer outside if weather conditions are right.

Due to the curvature of the boat hull, and if your design is symmetrically critical, you will need to print on stock that is 12 inches wider than your actual hull dimensions. If you have an RZ, your curvature aspect ratio will be less than conventional V hulls. If you stay below the rub rail, you will use considerably less square footage, thus considerably less vinyl costs. To determine your curvature, simply make a template out of a wide paper roll (green masking paper roll). Apply your template dimensions (aspect) true to form in Adobe Photoshop. You'll need to layout your template on a flat surface and utilize some of your drafting skills you learned back in high school. Doing this will ensure that your design will lay correctly on your boat hull.

Roland just launched their new Soljet Pro III XC-540 MT that has the ability to lay down metallic silver giving vinyl wraps a whole new dimensions into silver and gold’s and taking traditional colors to new levels never seen before. This is cutting edge for the industry! Example: Red becomes candy apple red, silver and gold actually look like silver and gold, pearls, firmist, so-on and so-forth...you get the point. Expect to pay a premium for a metallic output. This printer was just launched in North America this fall. It will be a while until we see this printer readily available as the MT is the first and only Metallic wide-format printer on the market.

We will be taking our vinyl wrap off our RZ4 this fall and applying new vinyl in the spring. We’ll take a photo of our boat on stands and send it off to Aurora Graphics to be used as another template.

In the picture below, you can see the discoloration on the vinyl from the gas that came out the vent during transport. No laminate!

Here are some pics. We did a medieval type theme. The cool thing about the wraps is there is so many options for those that want the hard core look with skulls or those that arent into skulls and want the basic look etc...

Just thought I would post a link to the WakeGraphics page that has 24 different designs. A little something for everyone - as some of them I like a lot, others not so much. Didn't see any designs that would work really well with a 2 color boat hull like ours - so I guess if we ever did something it would need to be custom.
