    First time WInterizing - Help!

If there is already a thread on this please send it to me. I haven't had any luck finding it.

I need to winterize my 08 22ve with the Marine Power 5.7. Does anyone have any good steps/directions?

    Thanks!

I just did mine yesterday, here's what I did:
      • Put Stabil in the gas tank and then put a few gallons of fresh gas in the tank to mix it all up
      • Using your fake-a-lake, fire up the boat and let it warm up to get that Stabil flowing through the fuel system
      • I then pulled the knock sensors and wing nuts for the exhaust manifolds and drained all of the water out of the block and then reinstalled
      • Pulled the heater hoses off and filled with pink RV Anti-freeze and then reconnected
      • using my homemade bucket contraption, put 4 gallons of the RV anti-freeze in the bucket and fired the boat up.
      • when it got down to about 2 gallons, I started spraying fogging oil into the throttle body until I was out of anti-freeze and then shut the engine off.
      • disconnected the batteries
      • remove all of your life jackets, ropes, etc
      • cleaned the entire boat
      • Say goodbye

Some like to change their oil in the fall, I change mine in the spring. I've also seen that some people aren't using the fogging oil anymore, I still had some from last year so I used it. I think it's optional.

Here's my homemade setup. For the anti-freeze bucket I used a piece of hose and a couple of fittings to get it to stay in the bucket and then a piece of sprinkler line as a vent (not sure that it's needed).

That's a great idea. So simple I'm kicking myself in the *** for sucking pink anti-freeze thru a hose to prime the line. haha
My mouth/lips were numb for about 45 minutes.
Other than that, Mrs. Lincoln, how was the play?
