    Towing with or without cover

I know this has been covered before, but do most of you tow with or without the cover? I recently got a new cover thru warranty. It had to be modified a bit because Great Lakes doesn't have the specs for the RZ2 with the Z tower. They sent me one for the E.
When I get to highway speed, one side rides up above the rubrail by an inch or so midhull port side. What do you all think? Normally I don't tow with it on because the longest I ever tow is an hour. But I'm towing it 7 hours to Abilene and don't want to risk rock chips, much less all the road grime in the interior.
    Suggestions? Advice?

I have done both and I prefer towing with cover. I have a snap on Sunbrella cover that travels very well. When I didn't have it covered, I got small punctures in my front seats in the vinyl -- the only thing that I could think of that caused was bugs smashing into it at 75 mph. Covering also protect the interior from dirt, rain, etc. and deters people from stealing stuff when stopped for food along the way.

I tow with mine on for all the reasons Moki stated. A similar post circulated recently and it seemed the majority towed without a cover due to concerns of the cover rubbing the gel coat.

I run some cord/string that I attached to my cover on one side, under the boat and tie it on the cover on the other side. This helps with the rubbing issue.

I have towed with bow and cockpit covers since 94 which was way before the Tige . The bow and cockpit covers on my 20V are made of aqualon fabric which set up with 1 bow Pole and 2 cockpit poles does not flap when the poles are set with correct tension. I expect at least 7 years before it will need to be replaced and that is because they were ordered in black.
