      They could not decide if they wanted to total it or repair it to start with. I knew it could be repaired and I pushed for that. I knew I would not be able to get a boat with all the options on it that I have on this one. In the end it came out 45K cheaper for them to repair it than to replace it since I have a replacement value on the boat policy.

      If you have state farm make sure with your agent you have a replacement for the value you state otherwise they will treat it like a car. Thank goodness my agent is a boat owner and family member that knew what to do.

      Most state farm boat policy owners do not know this and then the get a major depreciation and they can not afford to replace the boat if a total loss takes place. You need to check with them two or three times and ask them if it is insured for replacement value that you set not market value.

        my agent is my brother in law....but I'll check with him tomorrow just in case. Thanks!

          Same thing for us our agent was my wife cousin. He is the one that told us what we needed to do to make sure our boat coverage was what we wanted. State Farm Corporate will sometimes do their own thing.
