Replacing Factory Prop w/different Pitch and Size?

I damaged the prop on my 22i beyond repair and am considering replacing it with other than the factory issue prop. My 2005 22i came with a 515 13x12 VL 1 1/8 (a friend of mine has a 2008 22i that came with a 525 13x11.5 VL 1 1/8). Both boats have 5.7 Vortecs, but his boat shipped w/factory ballast, which may be why his prop diameter is different than mine(?). My boat isn't drivable at present, so I can't advise on Wide Open Throttle RPM.

We load both 22i's with approximately 900 lbs for wakeboarding, and approximately 1,800 for surfing (port side). Wake/wave shape and size are very good and hole shot is not a problem with the current props, however, could we get a better surf wave without too much of a drop in fuel economy with a different pitch/size propeller? Any input is appreciated.

525. Had it on my old DD. Put it on after havimg the 515. Huge difference.

The prop certainly does make a difference in the wake as I have been finding out. I have been working with ACME on some test. We are currently testing 6 different brand boats and props for Wake surfing and boarding. We are using the same lake same place and same water depth to perform all the test for ACME. Then we are feeding this information back to ACME. PM with information sent.

Turbo - thanks for reply. But, what kind of difference? Changes to wake shape or wave size/shape; fuel consumption?
