So when the taps burned out, what did the taps do? did it stay at a setting or move around?

The taps is actually hydraulic so my guess would be that it just stayed in the position that it was set in if the relay went out.

My first year winterization didn't get all of the water out of the heater core for some reason so last year I put the pink stuff in and all was good. The good thing about those cores, they are out of 70's Ford Pickups so they are like $20 at the auto parts store if they do break.

I can't believe that anyone recommended to NOT go with the heater. It will be the wife's best friend.

Good advice there on the heater core. What they charge for boat heater cores is highway robbery, when a little research supports the above. If it breaks, then get a new one. You do need to make sure it is dry or it will crack in the winter.

Go with the heater and if you have a PCM with the closed system you dont even need to worry about freezing it in the winter. I would not want to do with out it, but we are out on some cold days. like 40's and water temps in the 40's also. 4 words heater, hot water shower.

We don't have many, IF ANY boats here in OK w/ heaters. I've never seen one on the dealers floor models w/ them either. Rather it be CC, M/C, BU, etc. But then again, I think alot of you guys keep your boats out later than us.

Excellent info!! I have the close cooling system and never considered that the heater ran off that loop! Thanks.

Had the heater (3 vent) on our 22V. Not really one of those things you'd think you'd want until you have it. Nothing like early morning rides or late evenings crusing with the windbreak in and the heater keeping toes toasty. The one with the hose that pulls out is nice too. Throw the end of that hose under a blanket and it's perfect for those late night cruises. And by that I mean, well....lol

I'm kinda a cold water wimp too, and the little bit of warm air on my feet while driving sure made getting outta the cold water easier.
