    Time to winterize...

I wanted to start a thread and see what people do for their winterization process. For us up north we gotta worry about freezing. Anybody got any step by step instructions? I want to protect my investment is it feasible for me to do this myself or better for the mechanic to do it?

If you are handy with basic tools and can perform normal maintenance on a car, you can do it.

For us down, we can get away with just draining the block, etc, for you guys, it's best to run the pink stuff (marine/rv antifreeze) into the system.

Change all the fluids and oil filter and run for a few mins after to circulate fresh oil
Add Stabil marine fuel treatment to the tank and then RUN the engine for 5-10 mins.
    lube/grease rudder
    clean/dry interior
drain ballast and add pink to drain pumps
Service trailer and air up tires.

In Spring, replace impeller if it's more then 2 yrs old.

Its not too bad, I'd just set a day to get it done. Make sure you do the stuff listed above where you need to run your engine after, before you drain the block (ie oil, oil filter, fuel stabilizer). Depending where you are getting the pink fluid in for the winter can be tricky.

              How about in AZ?

Normally we just clean her up, throw the cover on and slide her into the garage. In the last 4 yrs it has only been below freezing for about 5-6 hrs overnight once. That was a fluke!!
