I get up to at least 4500 rpms or more on WOT. My Denali gets up there as well when towing on hills. I have around 530 hours on my engine without any problems.

I went with the 1235 for a while on my 24V, but I ended up going back to the 537. Becasue of the higher RPMs, I just felt like the boat was working a lot harder at normal speeds. My 537 seems to do fine, even surfing with about 1,500 lbs on one side. Can't go very fast with that weight, but it's fine at surfing speeds.

Do you still have the 1235?

I kept it as my spare on the boat.
