Question for guys with Acme 1235 props

Is anyone concerned about turning high Rpm's with the Acme 1235? I think I was turning around 4500 Rpm's at 30 mph which would seem high to me.

I think that is simply going to be the price you pay for being able to get out of the hole better.
    Be excellent to one another.

4500 rpm at 30mph sounds a bit high, I would confirm the mph using a GPS next time out. Also, was this your top speed and rpm at WOT (wide open throttle)?

The 1235 is 1" larger in dia, which usually brings rpm's down, but it's also down bitched by 1.75" as compared to the 537. So, it would be normal to see a lower top-end and higher rpm.

That is not WOT I would be scared to do that I bet I would be over 5000 Rpm's

Thinking of getting a 1235 and wanted to bump this up and see what issues everyone has with top speed.

I think you are only suppose to lose about 2 MPH on the top end. My expereince was about 200RPM more compared to the 537 at the equivilant speed.

Personally, I get over 30MPH about once every 100 hours. I am in no hurry.

Did Tige use PCM in 08? My 343 gets 5200 RPM @ 43 mph. Preferred RPM @ WOT is 5000, Max 5200. The engine is also equipped with an "RPM Max Governor in order to prevent the engine from over-revving." The manual also states that a 1" change in pitch will generally change RPM by 150-250 RPM.

                    No, 2008 was Marine Power.

My 24Ve with the 1235 didn't seem to rev higher at all, I got 42 mph with the 537, and like 41 with the 1235.

On a side note, yesterday Sunday was the first time I opened up the new RZ2, I got up to like 46 without issue, and it was windy and choppy. It felt like it may do 50 if smooth and no wind. a lot faster than the Ve, or speedo is way off. I did test speedo against gps at 11mph, it was within 1 mph. It felt like we were flying.

I just put a 1235 on ours 22Ve and only had it out one weekend. I am seeing about the same results as EWOK. I lost about 2-3 mph on the top end (that I only care about it if outrunning a storm).

Overall, I love the results. Smoother power and holds speed better for surfing and boarding.

I will double check mine tomorrow. My Marine power manual for my 5.7 340 says maximum Rpm's= 4300. It is stupid to me to have a tach that goes to 6000rpm's and no redline. But then again my 2007 silverado is exactly the same.

A 1433 and 1235 will be nearly identical on the boat, so there's no real performance difference there. The biggest advantage of the 1433 is that is offer more clearance than the 1235, which can be important on certain boat/trailer combos.
