Help me price my 22i to Sell

It looks like I will be going back to Afghanistan and my family is moving, rather suddenly, and will need to sell my 2005 22i quickly, I may have a couple months at most.

Just looking to hear opinions on where I need to price it to move. I understand the economy sucks, bad time to sell a boat, luxury items, etc...Just need to know if I can sell it quick and cover my loan.

Boat is a 2005 22i Riders Edition, 5.7L Vortec, Wakeboard Pro Perfect Pass, 194 hours, Clarion AM/FM CD player with remote. Excellent condition inside and out, no problems, serviced annualy by Tige dealer, steering cable replaced last year, needs nothing. Comes with tandem axle Performance Trailer, perfect condition.

What do I need to price this at to sell this fall? Also, what are the best resources to get serious buyers and avoid the window shppers and such? I am thinking OnlyInboards, and WW? I may go to my dealer, but the commision is a little tough considering I am close to my loan amount.

Thanks very much for the input.

OnlyInBoards.com is awesome and I would HIGHLY suggest that site. As for pricing, you should be below NADA low book value to even compete with what is out there. Sorry but you are right. The economy and trying to sell luxury items is not going to go quickly.

That's a nice looking boat, it's too bad that with the economy being bad and your need to sell it, you probably wont get what it's worth. Make sure and refer the new owner to the website.

The economy isn't why I need to sell it, but it is a bad time for sure to sell. I am thinking $21k would be attractive considering the hours and condition. It is hard to gauge based on the price of existing boats on the market as many are so overpriced it skews the average.

When using NADA, do you add for a trailer, or subtract without a trailer?

I realize that you aren't selling it because of the economy.

If I were in the market for a boat I would jump all over it at 21k.

I too understand that you aren't selling because of the economy. It's better that you have someone else enjoy the boat while you and the family are not able to utilize it. Once things settle down, I'm sure you will be back in another boat.

Add for trailer since the price doesn't reflect the trailer for Tige's

Thanks, I appreciate it. I priced it out on NADA and high retial is $25k, low retail is $22k. I am not sure how the hours reflect into the equation as there is no place to enter hours like there is miles on a car.

Any idea what I should figure for a tandem axle trailer, in excellent condition? I am thinking maybe a grand?

I would sell it for $21k with the trailer, but I don't think that is low enough to be in the fire sale category, maybe just into the 'good deal' category.

I would definitely put it on the market for $21k. That definitely seems like a great price for today and you can negotiate from there.

$21k seems low to me, but again I don't know your market and you are wanting to move it quick. Advertise on Craigslist too...Good Luck.

I know that people always want to negotiate, which frankly I hate if you price it right, but thats human nature. I think I will price it at $21,500 or $22,000 and go down to $21k.

I had the same boat and ended up trading it in. The dealer re-sold it a few weekes later for $25,500. You would be giving it away at $21K, but if a quick sale is what you want it will do just that. Exposure at a dealer/broker is what sells boats if you cant spend the time showing and advertising it yourself.
If you only need $21k, or if you are satisfied with that amount a broker should only be charging you 10%.

I know it is low, but I need to sell it, sooner the better.

I have it listed on Only Inboards, if anyone is interested here is the link.

Thanks for the help, someone will get a nice clean boat for cheap. And I get to go back to Afghanistan, lol. What a rip off!

Where are you located? I know someone in the market that might jump all over that for 21000.
