oil change tips

i'm getting ready to change the oil in my 08 22ve with the 5.7. any suggestions on the following would be great!:

1) best way to do it (type of pump, drain, etc.)
2) oil and filter type.
3) any other helpful tips.

For an oil filter, get the biggest one you can fit in on your engine and engine compartment. The bigger the better.

Just make sure you add more oil than the manufacturers suggestion since the oil filter will be retaining more oil.

I use a pump, but this fall I'm going to try using the oil pan hose through the hull drain (see which works better).

I use some marine grade oil (not Pensoil), and a Napa Gold oil filter. Buy some of the disposable oil soaking mats and line the area under your filter, way less mess to clean up. While your there you might aswell change your fuel water separator too.
