    Best/Worst Labor day story

Since it is 430pm, 90 degrees and zero wind, and I am at my computer, I got a potential for the worst.

Picked up boat from other lake yest, drove it home, encountered some new construction, long story short, end of hitting my trailer tire on a concrete ledge that ripped a hole in the side wall. Luckily, able to pull in and put the spare on, the spare was new and never been balanced. Tried like mad to get a new tire yest, wife actually drove 90 miles to get one, brings it home last night, and it was the wrong size. Ok, never fear, going to a very beautiful lake only 40 miles away, and we can do it without a spare. Drive there, at speed about 60 the trailer starts to vibrate, stop, feel the bearings, all cool, most likely the new spare on a different rim that was never balanced. Make it to the lake, conditions are perfect, 85 air, 80 water, 5 mph wind, water clarity a good 10 feet. Drive around for about 30 minutes, we go for a swim, hope back in to wakeboard, put the boat in gear and start looking around, then we feel the boat list, I kill the engine, and we glide over a huge floating tree in the middle of the lake at 58 ft deep, going 5 mph. Put my googles on, hop in and sure enough on of the blades tip is creased, the rest are fine. Turn the engine on, go and feel it start to vibrate about 15 mph. Go back to our home marina, have them pull the prop. They prop puller is way too big, end up bending the prop more and then they give up.

So in 24 hours, blew out a trailer tire, 180 mile round trip for a wrong tire, bent a prop, the marina can't get it off, they bend it more and this is first real sunny warm day in weeks.

Hope labor days goes better for the rest of yall.
The worst day of boating is still the better than the best day of work......, unless you bend your prop.

I stay home on major holidays, since I hate dealing with all the nutcases running around out there. Better to do something different on those holidays and have a better time on the water after them. Traffic...lake lice...boaters who only go out on holidays and have no clue what they are doing...drunk idiots....thank you....NO.

My neighbor put his bow through my port front window...awesome.
Then we spent Monday dodging the idiots in rental boats....
Next year I'm having a bonfire in my back yard.

I think Chp's Labor day would suck seeing how much he is committed to this forum and boasting I think not even being able to hook up the trailer and roll would be hard to deal with.
chp my empathy goes out to you.

Short Version of my labor day trip.

On I294 was cut off and ruined a tire on lane barrier avoiding the loss of the Jeep front end and more.
Back on road after mounting spare and another Bozo cuts me and just like first incident I loose 2nd tire.

Use GPS to find where I might be able to get another spare and a replacement tie and was lucky to the tune of $238 and change.

Before taking off again we do a light test and find that we lost one of the backup lights.

Un- eventful at the lakes other than neither lake was skiable,

Get home and lower tower and turn on aft tower lights. No light on aft but bow okay.

Got boat back in garage and looked at aft lights problem. It turned out that due to the rough water two wires came off the switch. It was wasy to locate the power run to the aft light but as of last night I still cannot find and connect the input power lead to the rocker. There are 4 blue wires and one of them is it. Called it quits on tower lights until later in the week when I work on squeaks that are now emitted from tower.

Last but not least, my cell phone dies, A memorable trip.

A pic of what?? There's a big nothing there where a window used to be. lol

We were rafted together (he's got a 24' Baja) and when we untied the lines he floated away. I went to pull my anchor and heard PSSHHH and got showered with milllions of glass shards. Dipstick wasn't paying any attention to his boat (that I thought had cleared mine) and the bow lined up perfectly with the curve in the glass.

Now my dealer is telling me, "I'm not sure they'll even make that anymore, you may have to look for a salvage one" Yeah, OK!! Like there's any chance in hell I'll find a slavage window for my boat.

Now you have an excuse to purchase a new boat
