your TIGE in the SALT?

I ride mainly in Freshwater but once or twice a year I ride in esturine water (salt/fresh mix) what precautions should I take if I put my Tige in the salt?

Can it handle it?

the question is, can you handle it

the tige will do as good as you want it to. you are going to have to clean, clean, clean. don't ever think "i am too tired to wash the boat, i'll do it later" later will be too late.
the engine will do fine with a flush of fresh water, it's the rest of the boat you need to worry about. carpet, upholstry, any and everything aluminum, trailer, trailer brakes, all of it needs to be completely scrubed. just saw a tower the other day that had the powder coating bubbling off around every bimini mount and wire holes. the boat has never been in saltwater, guy lives a mile from the beach. the tower is a year old and probably won't see the second year.

Tige M.D. salt water may be the culprit but i wouldnt be so hasty. If it is an 04' tower they possibly didnt powder coat it like they said they did. I just had to have my 04' tower powder coated because it flaked off of my tower. When i say flaked i really mean just peeled right offf. It was a spray on paint. Powder coat shouldnt peel bubble or chip, its baked on at an extremely high temperature and is tuff as nails. I would check and see if it really is powder coat if not id bark up tige's tree.

it's corrosion. under the powder coat is a fine white powder formerly known as aluminum. he has the same thing happening to his windshield frame and seat base.
