***TLDR WARNING***
(Too Long Didn't Read)
Just wanted to give Dom and Tony a nice Thank You for entertaining me today! I know Dom is on here occasionally and will hopefully see this.
Let me preface all my opinions by saying this is only the second inboard boat I have ever been out on. First one was a Moomba OBV, about a month ago.
Back story is I have been emailing with Tony about the 22Ve for a few days and today finally decided to get over there and check it out first hand. 60% chance of rain, which in Florida is nothing out of the ordinary, but was hoping it would hold off for once. Course you know when I got there it was raining, but they already had the 22Ve hooked up to Tony's truck ready to roll. Tony gives me the once over in the 2010 RZ2 they have sitting in the shop, and shows me what is new for 2010. Gotta say, the Tige Touch screen is pretty sweet! Dom even tells me they ran this thing through the washing machine cycle 5 times, to make sure it would stand up to the abuse, and it passed.
So we get to Lake Seminole and put the 22Ve in the water. I won't embarrass the guilty party (not Dom or Tony), but the battery got hooked up wrong and after a little bit of looking around to figure out the problem, Dom paddled us in and we headed back to the shop and picked up the 24Ve. I know Dom and Tony were a little more than put out by this, but I really could not have cared any less, I was just happy to be out on the water. We get the 24Ve in the water and Tony and Dom are both showing me around all the controls and the wake at different speeds while adjusting the TAPS2 system. Tony drives for a bit and adjusts the wake and speed so I can see what it is like for slalom, wake, knee and then surf. I take my turn at the wheel and like a kid in a candy store, just have a grin ear to ear!
Quite a few things I was completely impressed by, but the ones that stand out were, the very minimal bow rise (even with the TAPS at 8), change in wake using just the TAPS and no ballast, and the rough water handling.
To top off the day I followed the guys over to the lake where they put on their ski show every Sat and watched them practice, jump, barefoot, and some crazy maneuver called the wrap and one even more insane called the guillotine. I had a great time and really can't thank Dom and Tony enough for a great day on and off the water!
Tige 22Ve is definitely the front runner in my list of boats we want to buy!
