    wakeboard/ski storage

ok, lets see hear how/where you are storing your gear at home.
I don't intend to keep gear in the boat and not sure if I want to risk storing it at the storage unit with the boat either so need to come up with some ideas to store water skis, wakeboards, life jackets etc all in one central location for ease of grabbing and putting in the boat when heading out..

We have a portable clothes rack like at department store for our life jackets, chairs and tubes go in a pile in the corner of the garage, boards currently get lined up against the wall but we have every intention of mounting old board racks on the garage wall to store them. When will we get around to actually mounting the old racks and using them?...anyones guess.

yea, I've got limited space in the garage but one wall where car parks is candidate but gear will have to store flat against the wall in an orderly fashion of course..thinking of a peg system that will allow boards/skis to just slide and being squeezed by the pegs with their own weight/gravity..

Because I have a 12 foot ceiling in my garage I put up the white shelving normally used to hang clothes off of them. On these shelves I hang all of ski vests and stack our tubes and square throw cushions. I don't have to take out of boat but storing that stuff is easier to hang up so it is definitely dry and out of boat. in the bow I leave my anchor and various water toys. I used to keep all of my ski's on ski racks I bought on ebay but after 6 years the plastic that they are made of just kept cracking so all of our skis are put on the 6 inch foundation lip standing up behind my boats transom when boat is put in garage for the end of the season.

All of the good ski's are in covers I purchased on specials from Bart's and Overtones. We are a ski family with one board and I just put it in a rack since I store in my garage.

My skiing ropes and wakeboard rope are put in a container and put up on the shelving. I also pull out all the other ropes and put them in a container. Any thing that will hold water is pulled out of the boat and stored either on hangers or in a container for misc stuff. I had to fix my cockpit and bow covers so that the vents are open allowing air to be able to flow. All cushions/seating is opened to allow air flow in those areas.

There were a few threads about this. I could only find one. The other thread had a wood rack. Hopefully someone will find it. It was a great post.

4" red oak, closet pole, and a hole saw (1 - 3/16th). Some small angle brackets (1" X 1"). A hammer to pound the closet pole into the Oak (no glue needed) and your good to go.
