We've had a number of issues with our boat this summer. Besides engine issues, we've had a leak issue that we've been trying to track down. Long story short, when I went to pick it up at it's home (the local Tige dealer) they think they might have it fixed this time. They told me the plate inside of the hull that holds the strut to the shaft was bent. They felt like the only way that could happen is if it had been dropped. They also pointed out the excessive amount of putty around all of the hardware, such as the rudder, tracking fins etc...They said "Tige doesn't finish their boats that way". I didn't buy the boat from them. I actually found it out of state. Any advice or pictures of other's running gear would be much appreciated.

I think you mean the plate that holds the strut to the hull?
The contact between the strut and shaft is under the boat where the shaft slides through the strut. So it was leaking through the hull between the strut and hull?Be excellent to one another.

Now this one is going to turn out interesting.
Someone is going to confess to this eventually. It will be interesting since you have the previous dealer that you bought it from, the trailer company, the shipping company, and then Tige. Wonder who it will be and then someone hide the fact that there were repairs to it....

My gut feeling is this boat was dispalyed in a boat show and the previous dealer removed the running gear in order to sit it on the floor which is a common practice in displaying boats. This would explain the excessive 5200 that is present around all the underwater running gear. If that is the case, then any leaks or problems were created by the dealer and not a defect in workmanship by Tige.
Sounds like your selling dealer is stepping up and trying to get everything taken care of for you. Good luck and I hope you get everything straightened out.Mikes Liquid Audio: Knowledge Experience Customer Service you can trust-KICKER WetSounds ACME props FlyHigh Custom Ballast Clarion LiquidLumens LEDs Roswell Wave Deflector And More

Glad they finally got it figured out.Cursed by a fortune cookie: "Your principles mean more to you than any money or success."
