    Gel Coat Repair Follow up

    A while back, a fella on the forum (talltigeguy) posted a problem on the forum he had with a gelcoat repair kit that he purchased from spectrumcolor.com where is gelcoat didnt match his boat. he ordered crystal white, as I did and I ended up with the same out come. Im attaching a photo of the repair. I followed all the right steps...including grinding out the gelcoat around my scratch...but no good.
    I contacted spectrumcolor and they basically said they have couple other colors from tige that it could be, such as white, frost, or platinum...but its out of thier hands from there. and my invoice calls out crystal white. NOT HAPPY...my repair looks worse than the scratch. Judging from the picture...can anyone guess if my hull color is any of the colors I just listed?

    Perhaps ask if they could send you a "sample" or a chip from each color that you could use to match up to yours. I've found their customer service to be pretty good when I needed help with a couple things.

          Also, remember over time colors are going to fade to darker when the colors are light and lighter when they are dark. Make sure you us UV wax's or something with a UV protectant on your boat.

            FROST???!!!!
            Ughhh!
            When I ordered my boat I also asked for champaigne interior and ended up with white.
            (and frustration sets in)

                Your hull should be frost, those two colors, Crystal White gelcoat and Champagne vinyl, are not showing to be colors offered by Tige in 07.

                  Gotcha...yea...I originally ordered an 06, long story short, they gave me an 07 instead. Funny thing is in 07 they stopped making the 22V..so I have sort of an odd set up.
                  Thanks for you help...I am ordering the frost today.

                    I’m guessing frost was the right color? I have a 2000 21v and tige said it’s crystal white but I don’t want to run into the same problem.
