jail time is silly talk...... I lost a child.. jail time would be a nice break from the life of having to get up every morning and moving on, day after day after day year after year after year.
"Jail time" at least the pain would fit!

I think the parents should be thrown in jail. Might be accidental but the parents knew better IMO. I don't let my kid on the swim platform when the boat is running nor do they not wear a life jacket when they are legally required to do so.

Sorry, rant over. It's a shame that this little girl had to die to prove that CO kills.

Well said. Criminalizing negligent behaviour with tragic consequences like those in the story is not the solution. Any of you armchair pundits advocating jail time for parents has never lost a child.

There needs to be education on this subject (again, licensing requirements would help in this area), boat designs to help minimize the problem and law enforcement follow up on existing laws in this area. Stop the problem before it gets lethal and kills another child. Boating is supposed to be fun, not tragic.
