just purchased new boat - help w/ options

I just purchased a 2008 22ve. I can get a Tige cover or a custom made one. The dealer said the custom one was a little thicker material and more waterproof. Any good/bad experiences with Tige Covers? I will be towing it a lot.

Any good/bad comments about the air mesh seat. I can get the standard seat or the air mesh seat.

    Thanks!

The Tige cover is very nice and I have towed with it on. Not long hauls but short one's (<1 hour).

The air mesh seat is the best. If you can get that, it is well worth it. I had the standard seat with the 24Ve that I once owned and have the mesh seat witht he RZ2.. My vote is on the mesh

Welcome to the site. There is a ton of information on this site that you can do a lot with. Post pictures of your new boat when you can.

You want the Vision Air seat (mesh seat), that's a definite must have option! I tow with my Tige factory cover every time the boat goes out - it's a great cover. What's the cost difference on the 2 covers?

Next thing you will want, tower speakers (Wet sounds) and an amp to power them. You will also want ballast if you are planning on surfing. You might also want to pick up a "box" anchor if your dealer carry's them.

Congrats on the new boat! We will need to see some pictures!

Your gonna pay big bucks for the vision air seat if you buy it from Tige. I am going to buy one next year but the Attwood version which I believe is where the Tige version comes from anyway.http://www.attwoodmarine.com/store/p...isionAir--Seat

yes it is the same chair. The tige chair will just have TIGE embroidered on the back that is the only difference. The tige cover is much better than the other cover IMO (I wish I had the tige cover). Yes it not at thick but you will be able to tow with it on and it'a easer to put on and take off.

The Tige cover is super easy to put on IMHO and I have had no trouble towing over 200 miles each way. Make sure you get the support pole for underneath. My only issue is I wish mine was black.

Do you use the support pole when towing? It said not to. I've only used those once or twice for leaving it outside in the rain.

I tow mine with the shark skin Tige cover and it does great. Sometimes it does flap around, but if I just tighten the straps just a little, then I can drive 75mph without any movement. It is not totally water proof, but it is breathable also. I keep my in dry storage so it is not a problem and I kept my delivery cover, which is thick and waterproof in case I need to store it outside in weather.

Visionaire seats are a must. Every other boat owner that has driven my boat want to steal them

                  Congrats

Iboats has them for $537, which is probably not that cheap. Seems like I saw them for a lot less than that before?

I wonder what the bottom of the seat is like...my X45 has this monster Lazy-boy driver's seat. The only thing that really bothers me about it is that it does not swivel. Whenever I want to talk to people in the main cabin area, I sit sideways and that is not very comfortable. I have mulled over the idea of swapping it out for a chair that rotates. The chair sits on 2 sliding metal pieces on a fiberglass pedestal, like the 09 Tiges do. I think it would not be too tough to swap it out. The main reason it is not designed to rotate is because it is so wide, it hits the outside wall.

To get back to the original poster's question, I think the air chair is the best out there. Most everyone loves theirs. Get it if you can.
                    Be excellent to one another.

I do the same. I don't tow with my support poles on.

The vision air chair is nice, I would certainly opt for it. The Tige version is a tad different than the one listed above. However its still an Attwood.

                        You need an FAE.
You'll get your chance, smart guy.

If you open the product brochure you can custom order your seat configuration by changing the arms and bolsters to look exactly like yours minus the Tige logo.
