New Wet Sounds Pro 60 80 SS Grilles!

Ok, I got the new SS Grilles in from WetSounds today! And I have to say that I'm pretty happy with the changes. Still not the biggest fan of the maltese cross style. Its kinda played out in my opinion, I would prefer something a little more timeless. But hey, you can't please everyone all of the time! right? lol

So here are a few pics of them on a pair of 80's and the old and new 60's on my Alpha Z tower.

Are the new grills metal or plastic?

Mine look horrible on the 60s. Looks like they have dried up varnish on them.

That's what mine look like too. It sounds like WS might warranty them, I need to give them a call and probably snap a few pics to submit to them?

Thanks for posting up the pics! we are shooting pics of the 80's for the site right now and will be getting the grilles up on the site for purchase separately for those with the all chrome grilles that want to change to the new stainless steel ones. You can call the office at 877-938-7757 to order. The 6 inch stainless grilles are $44.99 pair and the 8 inch are $49.99 pair. If your speaker is under warranty and just want a grille swap to the same chrome ones, we can do that. But I would bet that most would want to upgrade to the new stainless ones.

The grilles are now painted the same color as the housing (white or black) and the cross portion is a stainless steel overlay. As you can see from the pics. It gives the grilles a lot more pop and being stainless will last!

We have some other grille designs we have in the works but those will be next year. The 80’s shipping now will have the new grilles and the MB-8, 60’s and 485’s are a running change. Also, the new 80 you have has some other tweaks as well. We beefed up the driver. Thicker cone material(still our EFG material) and a thicker surround. Stronger adhesives as well. Resulting in better mid bass response.

Those are the all chrome grilles. They are still shipping with the 60's and MB-8's and 485's. As the 80's are the first with the running change to the stainless overlay version. (Fixed post above to clarify)

Do the new 80 covers fit the MB-8?
