Surf or Skim? -and- The Gun Show

As promised, I finished putting those videos together that we did with Sean Cummings. The first is for beginners, alot of questions about surf vs skim, this just hits the surface, but also shows some great riding by sean.

The next video is the first in our "How to Wakesurf 201" series. 201 is designed to give wakesurf tricks that new surfers looking to expand their ride can do. This trick is a variation of HANG 5 and is a signature Cummings move. Its a lot of fun and makes for great pictures. If you are newer to wakesurfing, but can ride behind the boat comfortably without a rope, you should be able to do this. Have fun!

Those are some great video's rag. Your editing skills are definitely getting better.

You probably have enough video now to make a movie don't you j/k

Its not my editing skills. I was using iMovie for speed. Until I worked out some issues in my workflow. I am now using Final Cut Studio, which I have owned and used for years, but it doesn't work so well with consumer video. I just got the new upgrade today, supposed to even help better with my workflow. Its all about doing them fast. iMovie didn't have all the tools, but allowed FAST editing. FCP can do anything.

I still try to keep the fancy stuff to a minimum, just want to get the point across. Definitely like that with FCP I can easily do the watermark all the way through.

Thanks though. I seriously video every surf session behind the boat now. With our new cameras, they are cheap, and record to SD. Just disk space to save them, and I have terrabytes, and will by more if I need to. Cataloging it is a bit of a pain, going to have to work on a better system for that soon.

Sounds like you need to use a database to store them one with info about the video in the file. Definitely easier to search for keywords than searching files for what you need. But I am sure you knew that

y, the db isn't the issue, its watching them and entering the keywords in the first place. iPhoto on the mac is awesome. I have moved back to it from Aperture. It now can handle HUGE libraries, and you can teach it faces, and it will catalog which people have which faces in them, very cool. Someday in video.
