    Cofusion on steering cable

    Hey guys,
    Does anybody know what steering cable for use in a 2000 2100V limited. I'm confused, but I think it is either a SSC13417 or an SSC5217. I've seen both suggested so I don't know which to order
    Any help would be appreciated because I want to get this part ordered ASAP so I can have the boat back out on the water since the season here is shorter in Oklahoma City than I'm used to.

    I have just gone through this same confussion. I have a 24 V and the OEM cable was a ssc13421 and they are on back order and I was unable to find one anywhere. I called teleflex, they were very helpful on explaining the differences between part numbers. For my boat there were actually several different cables that were a direct replacement with different levels of quality. I was able to get a ssc15421 for about $10 more and it is a better cable. SPBFAN was able to help out in getting it to me for a good price and I am changing the old one out tonight. Good luck with your quest.

      Good place to get your boat serviced, but it will be about a 2.5 hour drive, Pier 51 marina can also help, which is about 1 hour closer.
      The worst day of boating is still the better than the best day of work......, unless you bend your prop.

            My boat is on its busted trailer in a shop right now so I don't have access to it, and I'd rather a bunch of filthy guys not climb around in my boat.

              I'm a newbie to inboards, so I called Grand Lake Boat Sales in OK, and they thought the steering cable might be 'bound' instead of just old. Should I be able to turn the rudder w/ my hand w/ the boat on the trailer? Also, does it still sound like a bad cable if its only really hard to turn to the left, but one-finger-turning easy to go to the right? It was hard to turn left when under way, but not in neutral. Thoughts?
