Can anyone tell me what size motor my lift needs to pick up my pre 2100 wt. Specs show it to weigh 2825# empty. I have a 1/2 hp motor now so should that cause a problem. If it matters my lift is the type that looks like a trailer frame without the axle lifted on cables. It won't pick it up all the time and was told it is about twelve years old. Can I go back with the same size motor?

I am not an expert on motors but I would think as long as you are using the same gearing you could bump the motor up 3/4 or 1hp as long as the rpm's are the same. Maybe check with the lift manufacturer to see what they say."I feel sorry for people that don't drink, when they wake up in the morning, that's as good as they're gonna feel all day" - Frank Sinatra
