Tow Point

IThere has been a couple of discussions on these but is this tow point strong enough to pull a tube? I was thinking of trying to reinforce the inside but to get in there I would think it is a pain in the a$$. The backs of the seats would have to be taken off I assume?

It is strong enough. That's why it was put there.

Yup I've used it with two big guys on the tube. I also have a boat driving girlfriend without a complete understanding of "watch the slack" so it has definitely been tested.

yes that one SHOULD be strong enough, but! i have seen what they look like when they decide not to hang onto the boat and its not so hot.. towing with something like this

off of the "D" rings is always going to be the strongest option

D rings sound good ... unless you have a Tige with low mounted rings (under the swim platform). And those same Tige's probably have only a handle in the rear rather than a tow hook. Leaving the "pansy" pylon. Which I purposefully left off our boat (and love the decision!).

IMO that tow point looks stronger then the D rings.

I have something similar on my boat, and that's where I tow the tubes. I use the pansy pylon for waterskiing, and the tower for surfing and wakeboarding.

right behind the D rings theres thicker fiberglass and gelcoat, the D rings can be used to lift the boats for whatever reason... so they are def. the strongest towing area, but again if they are under hte platform its really doesnt help much for towing
