Pic's please and is it a TIGE Tower. Insurance should take care of it if it is factory.

Yep that is a factory tower. Have you contacted TIGE about this yet. I am sure they can give you some direction on this. I would give Harvey a call. If they can not help you I would contact the insurance company. I would think because your boat is an 08 there is some warranty on it. I know they had a 3 year warranty nose to tail in 08 and 09.

I don't think that's an insurance claim, more of a warranty issue. You didn't, by chance, attach a tube to the tower, did you?

Boat has a 3 yr warranty, I'd start with contacting your dealer, as they are there to handle warranty claims/work.

The way the crack propagated around/thru welds it sure looks to me like a fatigue thing and not caused by exceeding yield strength of tower (like pulling a tube). In other words, overloading it (like pulling a tube)

When you weld any metal is causes a heat effected zone and this changes the temper of the base material. (aluminum) Typically that is where the structure will fail first under cyclic loading. Is there a ton of weight on the tower? (lights/speakers etc.)

Speaking of pulling a tube where you shouldn't pull one. My boat has the hook on the transom, and it looks very beefy, and I pull our tubes from there, but I have thought about pulling them from the ski pylon. Is it safe to pull a tube from the ski pylon, or should I always use the tow hook on the back of the boat?

If you do a search, there are many threads discussing it. Newer boats have a pylon that is just bolted through the fiberglass deck only, and that is the point of debate. Older boats have a pylon that is stoutly supported (to the engine mounts, I think). Generally, folks seem to feel the old style should be no problem. The new style "pansy pylon"...

well all i have heard so far is the tower manufactures want more pics of the tower. pics of the top of the tower, the entire tower. so i got them sent and still waiting. I got a bad feeling they are going to try and blame it on the tower speakers.
