    Practice Safe Wakesurfing

Ok, we have done another how to video, which is a big one for us. This covers SAFETY while wakesurfing, let me know what you think, there are 2 parts.

Also, please check out the site http://wake9.com/ . The grom boards are on the way, and we are taking preorders. As a consumer and parent, I just hated not being able to try out a new board before spending the coin. So I am taking a risk and offering a 30 day guarantee. I am so confident, after our extensive testing, that this board will help anyone under 120lbs to get up and surf. I am putting my money where my mouth is, so to speak. Let me know what you think.

Dude, your wake is sick! One comment, on a jet boat, the impeller (equivalent of a prop on a boat) is inside a tube so it's fully enclosed. However, they are usually behind the boat and not underneath the boat.

Yes, I didn't have any jet boats around to film. Even though the impeller is enclosed, and I would def venture to say that it would be much safer than I/O and outboard, I think an inboard would be much safer. I bet there could be an argument that a jet is safe enough, so I mentioned it, but didn't go into detail. I guess I was purposely vague with the jet.

      Thanks about the wake.

          Grom

I'm excited to hear the boards are making it to production. I have four kids 5, 8, 9 and 12. Right now only my 12 year old is learning to surf...on my board. I'd love to have something like the Grom for my younger ones. Order at your site?

Yes, you can preorder now. And I am pushing the envelope, there is a 30 day guarantee. I am a parent and a consumer first, and I know how nuts it is to shell out the dough, and not be able to try a board. I am so confident this will be better than any other board for your kids, I am standing behind it. And I have plenty of video showing how much we have tested.

Don't take this the wrong way but there is an awful lot of carbon monoxide coming off the back of your boat and that could present an issue if you are surfing back there for any length of time.

Also, I couldn't help but notice when you picked him up that you got close enough to him for him to give you a high five as you passed by him, again, not to create any drama, but that isn't exactly the safest way to collect your rider.

                  Great tips!

Re carbon monoxide, newer boats with catalytic converters remove a majority of CO.

If you watch the first video, we discuss CO, and we are working on a special video regarding Fresh Air Exhaust. The CO doesn't pose a problem for the surfer, only for someone sitting on the sundeck or on top of the swim deck, which you see are clear. The fresh air exhaust eliminates 90% of what is normally produced.

Also, if you watch the video carefully, you will see that Thomas actually swims up to give the high 5. We do get close enough to hand the rope, but approach bow down, and always in site of the rider. Thomas is a fish, and has already many surf sessions under his belt, and has no fear of swimming up to the boat when it is going that slow. My goal is to be safe, yet realistic. I am not going to show myself going to turn around and pick up my rider, giving him 15 ft of distance, when everyone knows that is not how we do it. Just like I don't have my kids wear helmets for the safety video, when everyone knows they don't regularly.

Hope that makes sense. We put over 200 hrs per season wakesurfing on our boat, and we strive to do it safely.

Do you have an FAE? It didn't sound like your boat did in the intro.

Not yet, working on it. But I didn't just want to order and install. First I had to wait until I was sure the deck was permanent. Now that I am sure it is, I have ordered one, but we are going to do a special CO safety video.

The guy calls his daughter a "Dork".

If I were her, I'd kick you in the gonades "from the rear".
