    problem with wetsounds!!

i was following my parents and our boat to the lake for the 4th, i noticed one of our speakers starting to shake really bad. I called my dad to tell him to pull over and before i could even tell him it fell clean off. luckily the boat cover kept it from rolling onto the road. when looking at it, we found that it was the housing that broke rite where it mounts to the bracket. and after inspecting the other one it also has stress fractures around the same area!!
these speakers are only 2 years old, and on top of the cracks and breaking, they have faded very very badly. this is surprising becuase our boat is always stored in our garage when not bieng used. i could see this if it stayed outside but not with how well we take care of the boat.
i know that they only offer a 1 year warrenty but really!!?? IT FELL OFF WHILE WE WERE DRIVING! im actaully glad it fell when it did cuz those things are dang heavy and would have wrecked someone's day had it fell on them.
im just hoping there is something that can be done. we cant afford new speakers and i just dont think this ever should have happened, let alone after only 2 years.
sorry about venting a bit. it just kinda sucks. but if anyone can help i would appreciate it.
    thanks

Call WetSounds tomorrow morning and talk with them. I think their # is 877-WET-SPKR (or check their website if that doesn't work).

From everything I hear, their customer service is outstanding, and I have heard of many cases in which they take care of stuff that is beyond the warranty period. Just call and explain your issues. Then let us know the outcome.

Call Justin at Wetsounds His number is 1-877-938-7757

He will either help you himself or pass it onto someone who can address the situation.

Hopefully you registered the speakers when you bought them.

        Good Luck

its been long enough that i dont even remember if we registered them or not, but either way they are past the time period for that. so if anyone helps out at all i'll be very lucky i think

It is ALWAYS best to call a manufacturer direct. Why do people post on forums asking "what will a manufacturer do" versus calling the manufacturer direct.

            Call us at 877-938-7757.

You have to remember. That as a manufacturer, we build out products to withstand the marine environment and the abuse of normal use. I am not saying that you abused them. But I am saying that we have no way of knowing. Someone may hit double up's 20 times a day. Someone may hang on their speakers. There are all sorts of variables out there. Some may be more abusive on their boats than others. We have no way of knowing. So all the viewers on this post see is a one sided vent from you on this. without knowing the facts. Same goes for the boat itself. The engine. The tower. No one really knows.

So the best thing we can do is find an agreeable solution. We pride ourselves on having the best customer service around. And we go above and beyond every chance we get. And if the product is out of warranty, we still find solutions for our customers.

All we need is the opportunity to do that.

            Tim

                Tim,

First consider the source. The OP is 19 year old who's father is towing the boat. Potentially dad bought the boat and the speakers. Most 19 year old's are lacking in business savy and ethics anyway simply due to lack of exposure.

IMO, most people posting about Wetsounds warranty issues are doing so to gain leverage in a public forum knowing that you (Tim) will read this and be forced to make it right at your expense while banking on the fact that if you don't, you will be hurting your business and reputation.

I'd still buy from Tim. Out of warranty is out of warranty. My speaker's, NOT wetsounds, did the same thing so I had to take them apart and build in an aluminum plate both inside and out to take the load and sideways forces that I experience running in choppy conditions often. I know I beat on them so had no questions about wear and tear issues, nothing lasts forever. Great to hear directly from the manufacturer though, stand up job you-all do with feedback.

Murph, I agree 100% and know that most use as leverage. I do not think that was the case here and probably just the age.

But wanted to use this post as an opportunity for others reading. To make sure they know. All they have to do is call us. I can understand if we never answer the phone or e mail. But we are easy to get ahold of and jump through hoops to make customers happy.

it is good to see that others jumpped on before I could and even said the same thing, call us and gave the number. It is great to see customer support like that.

I have noticed that on this forum and on WW that people tend to take care of those that take of us!

Common Tim, it's so much easier to whine about it on a forum

hey guys, this really isnt where i wanted this forum to go. yes i vented, but to be honest we were just shocked that it happened like that. and after cleaning the boat yesterday my dad and i figured we ought to see what we can do about it. we went to wetsounds website very first. we saw the contacts option and went from there. i did not know till just know that the phone number was at the very bottom of the page. so my next place to go for help was tigeowners. ususally seems like a great place to go.
everyone at first gave me good help, IE giving me phone numbers and telling me who to talk to. thats exactly what i was looking for. i was not here to gain leverage or get attention. just had an honest problem and wanted to get to the bottom of it.

and murphy i dont really appreciate your comment towards me. to be honest im actually a bit offended...

i had no intention of hurting anyones rep or making anyone look bad. are you for real??

yes my dad bought the boat, yes dad bought the speakers but im sure you've done the same for your kids, and i'll do the same for my kids some day. i consider myself incredibly fortunate to have what i have. if i use the boat with friends i fill it with gas, i clean and take care of the boat after every use, i put my own ballast sytem in the boat, and im responsible for any damage done by me. im not saying that this evens things out but i do care about and love the boat that me and my family enjoy together.
and also my dad was sitting in the chair next to me last night when i wrote this forum. so to say some 19 year old kid is just pissed off isnt true. we both ust wanted to figure things out.
i am not upset at anyone and i plan on calling as soon as im off work. i hope there are no hard feelings and tim you hit it on the spot when you commented about us telling our story of what happend and looking for help.

i didnt know who tim was before this and now because i posted this i have found who we need to be talking to and thats all i wanted.
                          thanks
