Rofer, did the battery swap fix your problem? I'm having the same issue, what a PIA!! Is the EIDB system on the '07s good for anything besides screwing up your day?

Hi
I have the same boat (07 24ve) and have been having the same throttle issue for the last few trips. I changed both batteries with no effect. I have been talking with our dealer sinse it started and he is sure it is the throttle handle assembly. They have replaced several on boats having the same issue and it has solved the problem. My boat is at the dealer right now waiting for the Warranty replacement part ($600 if I had to pay for it). Evidently the labor is not coverd do to the age of the boat.
I will be testing the boat around July 30th and will post to let you know if the problem is solved.

I replaced both the batteries and checked the voltage of both the new batteries and they were both close. However my problem tend to get worse later in the day after playing the stereo all day? Funny thing is, in past years we have run the Stereo battery down to the point the stereo cut out on low voltae but we did not have the throttle issue.
We do have a battery isolator so that may be a factor.
No mention of a TBS code. The seem sure it is a problem in the throttle handle.

I realize this is an older post, but has anyone had any luck resolving their throttle concerns? I have an 07 22Ve, and have the same problems. It went to the dealer for repairs last year, and have had no luck in fixing. I also purchased a new throttle control and replaced it without any success. I talked to Marine Power and they offered to reflash my ECM at no cost, so I thought I would give that a whirl, but would greatly appreciate learning what (if anything) has worked for others. Thanks.

I'm going to suggest something that will probably help ALL of you! Sounds like your all's potentiometer's have gone out.
For the guys throwing a code....What code are you guys throwing? Code 81 I bet. If charging the battery doesn't work (Check the batteries first definately) then you need to have your dealer check the potentiometer.
He needs to get in there and check for a voltage drop at the throttle assembly when throttling up or down. If it's dropping, then he'll need to replace the potentiometer. It's a heck of alot cheaper than replacing the entire throttle assembly.
In the past you needed to replace the whole assembly as Tige's throttle manufacturer did not sell them the potentiometer as a stand alone part. Fortunately for us, Dom at Forte's inboard connection just so happen to discover that it's the same part as what's in the Malibu. So now you can spend $80 or so dollars on this part instead of $700 on a new throttle assembly! Yayyyy DOM!Being a major OU fan and a staunch conservative.... I am perpetually vexed w/ the conundrum of who to hate more. Obama or the Univ. of Saxet.

As to the potentiometer, I don't "think" this is the problem. I replaced the throttle assembly just last week (got a smoking deal on a new assy. for $100), and the condition has not changed. I will be double-checking the voltage on the batteries, and keeping my fingers crossed that is the root cause for this issue. I also will not be going to the AZ Tige dealership now that they are under new ownership. I was underwhelmed with their response to this problem the first time around, and want to do anything I can to fix it myself.
Thank you all for the replies. If/when I come up with a concrete answer, I will be sure to post.

Here are some thing to do/look at: Make sure both batteries are good. I would have them tested by a knowledgeable shop, one using a conductance tester and not the old "toaster tester" types. Make sure they are fully charged - 12.8 + is 100%, 12.0 is depleted. Next, if the battery cables are secured with wingnuts, replace them with ny-lock nuts. Check the grounds on the engine block and the other ground BUSS bars. I think there is one on the starboard transom wall and one under the helm.Mikes Liquid Audio: Knowledge Experience Customer Service you can trust-KICKER WetSounds ACME props FlyHigh Custom Ballast Clarion LiquidLumens LEDs Roswell Wave Deflector And More
